BEWARE………..This hotel as took an extra nearly £60 over $70 dollars from my account without informing me. I called to find out why and they informed me it was due to booking with an outside agency. I’m currently in contact with booking.com who inform me no extra payment should of been taken as all taxes and charges were included in my original cost!

This is definitely a hotel that’s past its best and is the epitome of decaying grandeur. On the positive side it’s in a great location and the beds are super comfortable but don’t expect any extras or even the kind of normal additions you’d get at most hotels today. There’s no room service, no info in any of the rooms about the hotel or even the area. Try and get a late check out and they want to sting you for $30 for every additional hour. They told us they needed our room because the hotel was going to be very busy. We sat in the lobby for 3 hours and saw TWO people check in. Try to order a cup of coffee before 4pm when the bar opens? No chance. Told to go across the road. Staggeringly old fashioned and unhelpful staff. We were only here for 3 days and as it was our first visit to Chicago it was a bonus to stay somewhere where a lot of the attractions are in walking distance . Would we stay here again? Absolutely not. It would be so easy to make the customer experience better ..

We have just got back from our second (7 night stay) at this great centrally located hotel. The staff at the Knickerbocker Hotel are always friendly and helpful and our room was clean and well appointed. Although our room was at the front of the hotel we found it really quiet. The bar and restaurant were open over the weekend and we really enjoyed our drink at the bar. We always love chatting to Craig at your Concierge who is so welcoming and helpful. We look forward to staying with you again soon.

Bad check in experience, no information provided relating to the hotel facilities. No breakfast options as both this and the restaurant was closed - told to go steakhouse for breakfast!!! Receptionist seemed more interested in their phone than providing any help. Very noisy at night with people banging on doors and shouting down corridors. On check out informed no charges or taxes would be applied as it was pre-paid holiday - requested bills numerous times by different methods and kept being advised it is not something that is offered then got charged once home. Hotel is in bad condition and rooms need an update and refresh.

Poor customer service, I changed 3 rooms, front desk didn’t care much about the customer feedback and one wasn’t polite. I had a package shipped to me and it arrived the morning of Friday at the front desk and every day I ask about it they ignore they received it. I waited until Monday and called the shipper and they confirmed it’s delivery (because I didn’t have the tracking number) when I called the front desk on Monday and told them that you must received it according to the UPS they FOUND it !!!!! But guess what? It’s too late and already checked out from that poor hotel. Besides the closest door was off the track and they kept promising they will send me some one to fix it and it took them 3 days to do that after many reminders !!! So I had to carry my important stuff with me everywhere because apparently I couldn’t open the safe door or use it!! The toilet seat wasn’t clean the day I checked in and I called front desk and told them and no body cared!! She didn’t even say sorry and neither sent anyone to clean it!!
